The Marconi 0.5kW transmitter is a spark transmitter fitted in Drifters and other small Fleet Auxiliaries where space is limited. Power is supplied from a small steam dynamo supplied with it. Navigation and lighting circuits will also be supplied by this dynamo so these supplies with have to be sacrificed when the use of W/T is required. In certain Tugs this set was modified by AFO 254/31 to include 375 kc/s. |
