The Type 40 was an experimental set, so was known as the Type 40X. It was not issued as a set to the Fleet. It was a Valve transmitter operating in the frequency band 140-375 kc/s using a CW emission. A range of 8 miles was achieved. It used the ships mains as its power supplies. |
